Since 2019, I've been working as a freelance copywriter for independent marketing agencies. My role involves crafting engaging copy for social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, aiming to create meaningful interactions with both current clients and potential prospects. I focus on tailoring content to drive engagement, increase brand visibility, and foster lasting connections.

Responsibilities:
  1. Content calendars: I received weekly content calendars to develop copy for each platform, including hashtags and mentions of other accounts, ensuring the content aligned with the strategy.
  2. Check for Errors: Once the visual content was finalized, my role was to ensure the copy was included in the designs and thoroughly checked for any spelling or grammatical errors.

  3. Quick Thinking: Last-minute content and copy were a regular part of the job. I was often required to quickly come up with creative ideas, adapting to sudden changes while maintaining high-quality results.

Outcome: The content I created helped drive engagement and increase visibility for brands across social media platforms. By tailoring the copy to fit the brand's voice, I contributed to meaningful connections with audiences. My ability to adapt quickly to last-minute changes allowed me to consistently deliver quality content, even under tight deadlines, ensuring the marketing campaigns stayed on track and aligned with their goals.

Apple Music

2015

This project was a personal highlight for me! As a huge music lover, working on this launch was a big win. At first, we were simply tasked with writing about 80 weekly blurbs on various genres, from regional to electronic, pop, rock, and more.

Responsibilities:
  1. Music Review Composition: I crafted concise and engaging music reviews for the selected artists, highlighting their unique style, musical influences, and notable tracks.
  2. Content Delivery: The reviews were formatted and optimized for Apple Music's platform, ensuring a seamless user experience for audiences browsing through new music.
  3. Feedback Integration: Collaborating closely with the Apple Music team, I incorporated feedback and suggestions to continuously enhance the quality and relevance of the reviews.
Outcome: The reviews sparked a lot of interest among users, helping them discover and appreciate up-and-coming artists, which made exploring new music even more enjoyable. This experience also gave me valuable insights into how the music industry works and what listeners like. I'm excited to continue working in the music world, supporting creativity and diversity in music.

With over 15 years of experience in design, photography, and video, I've had the opportunity to work as a social media designer for various brands in CDMX. Through creating content, I've learned to seamlessly integrate copywriting into design, making it easier for me to craft both the visual and written elements. While my expertise doesn’t focus on branding, my knowledge of copy-in (on designs) and copy-out (captions) has provided me with a comprehensive approach to content creation.

Púlsar

Púlsar is an independent company that focuses on mixing, mastering, music composition, and all other elements involved in music production. I've had the pleasure of working closely with them on their digital design, specifically for their Instagram.

Responsibilities:

  1. Graphic Design: We have been working closely to create visually engaging content to showcase their services.
  2. Ensure consistency: My goal was to align my ideas with the previous designer's work, preserving continuity in the design direction.
  3. Content support: In my role, I receive content ideas and develop the design, integrating the "copy-in" (text within the design) to match the brand’s messaging. While I don’t create the core content, I ensure the visual and textual elements align, helping to communicate the intended message effectively.
Outcome: Step by step, the content we've created has successfully resonated with our target audience, contributing to a noticeable increase in demand for Púlsar's services. The strategic approach and consistent design have helped elevate the brand's visibility, leading to greater engagement and a stronger presence within the music production community.

» Translation

I think language is more than just words; it's the key to connecting diverse cultures and fostering understanding worldwide. In my Translation portfolio, I demonstrate my skill in the art of linguistic transformation and proficiency at word localization. Whether it's translating for TV, movies, marketing, or personal projects, I handle each task with precision and care, ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

Nunca seremos parte

2020

In the midst of the pandemic, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Amelia Martinez, the director of Nunca Seremos Parte, an independent film that explores an LGBT+ story. I worked on the subtitling process for the film, which was featured at several festivals across Mexico. The movie won notable awards, including Premio del Público - Mejor Largometraje Narrativo at the Inside Out Film Festival and Mejor Actriz for Adriana Palafox at the Gran Fiesta del Cine Mexicano. It was also streamed on Mubi Lat.

Script Translation and Adaptations

From 2017 to 2020, I freelanced as a translator and script adapter for series and movies on platforms like Netflix, Universal, and Amazon. I ensured the accuracy and cultural relevance of translations, preserving the essence of the original content for global audiences.   Responsibilities:
  • Script Translation: Translated scripts while preserving storyline integrity and thematic elements.
  • Word localization: Translation and dubbing involve more than language conversion; it's about adapting content for each country's cultural context.
  • Collaboration with Production Teams: I collaborated closely with the production team to assist voice artists during TV show recordings.
  • Quality Assurance: Conducted thorough reviews to ensure linguistic precision and coherence.

I developed content for social media platforms and ensured consistent messaging, while also focusing on internal communication, including newsletters and updates for team members. This dual role allowed me to refine my skills in crafting engaging external content while fostering clear, effective communication within the organization, ensuring alignment across all levels.

Fundación Teletón

2016 - 2023

During my time working with Fundación Teletón, I undertook the responsibility of creating impactful content and delivering persuasive copy for fundraising campaigns aimed at supporting their events. The focus was to engage potential donors and supporters, not only to encourage their participation in fundraising efforts, but also to raise awareness of the importance of this non-profit organization. This project involved a variety of tasks, including developing compelling scripts, creating mailings, crafting copy for all social media platforms, preparing cue cards for events and TV segments, among many other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Content Creation: Developed compelling content to explain Teletón's work across multiple channels such as Facebook, their webpage, TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram. Also collaborated on communications within the non-profit.
  • Annual fundraising event: Teletón organizes a fundraising event every year, and I am in charge of the YouTube live transmission. My responsibilities include organizing the segments, coordinating with the talent, creating cue cards for every host, preparing the interviews, and guiding the production at the forum.
  • Copywriting: To connect with donors effectively, impactful copy is essential to inspire action and encourage donations, ensuring messaging consistency across communication channels. The brand book is well-written, and I work within its tone and style to resonate with target audiences and campaign goals.
Outcome: Throughout my years working with Teletón, I've learned many valuable lessons, not only related to my job but also about the importance of a well-organized organization. Working with dedicated professionals who are committed to the project has been an enriching experience. I would say that the success of every fundraising event has been the result of the talent and commitment of every member of Teletón.
